Overview

A Personal and Commercial Lines insurance carrier based in New Mexico sought to modernize its core Policy Administration System (PAS) to improve operational efficiency and better serve its customers. Ogon Consulting was selected as the technology partner responsible for migrating the carrier’s existing policy data to the new PAS. Leveraging Ogon's Spitfire Data Migration Platform, the project aimed to convert and renew approximately 20,000 policies, including Personal Homeowner (HO) and Commercial lines such as Commercial Package Policies (CPP) and Workers Compensation.

Data Migration Approach

The project focused on an "Automated Convert on Renewal" approach, where policies were transferred to the new system as they came up for renewal. This allowed for a seamless transition while reducing the operational risks associated with a large-scale data migration. The Spitfire platform’s flexibility enabled efficient handling of multiple data entities, including:
